Risk Analysis

Risk assessments identify if an ergonomic hazard is present and quantify the extent of the hazard. In ergonomic risk assessments, a battery of tests are employed to cross-validate results and make certain client objectives are met. Recommended resolutions, if required, focus first on properly utilizing assets before additional equipment or special aids are added. Hazard identification and abatement are key issues in OSHA compliance.

ErgoMethods' ergonomists draw upon years of experience and training when selecting which assessment tools to use when trying to assess ergonomic risk associated with a given job or task.

 Moore-Garg Strain Index

The Moore-Garg Strain Index is a comprehensive ergonomic assessment tool that we use to help quantify ergonomic risks associated with a job. It assesses exertion level, duration, posture and repetitions.

 Rodgers Muscle Fatigue Analysis

Rodgers Muscle Fatigue Analysis is one tool ErgoMethods uses in conjunction with other assessment tools to quantify potential ergonomic related fatigue issues. This assessment is valuable in quantifying risk to specific body parts.

 The MotionWatch WristCorder

The MotionWatch WristCorder is a valuable tool when detailed wrist and forearm posture is needed. It gathers wrist flexion/extension, ulnar/radial deviation, and supination/pronation wrist movements. It collects 100 samples a second and counts the number of repetitions and time spent in various postures. Companies such as Boeing and Levi Strauss have used this device to quantify ergonomic risks.
